Popham Beach located in Phippsburg is one of my favorite beaches in Maine. Tidal pools, surf waves, small waves, and a perfect place to take the family. If you’re lucky you might even find a sand dollar! During low tide you can walk to Fox Island, a small island where the views are even more spectacular. Just keep an eye on the tides tough, you wouldn’t want to get stuck out there! Also if you’re around during the winter time it’s just as beautiful, especially when people are riding their horses along the beach.

Scarborough Beach in Scarborough is another great beach. Whether you want to go body surfing or actual surfing you can find all the waves there. They even have a snack shack with popsicles, french fries, and other various treats. Make sure to get their early though, because parking can be a bit tricky on sunny days.

Sand Beach located in Acadia National Park is a very well known beach along the Park Loop Road. The water might be cold but the views are amazing. Whether you’re on the sandy beach looking out on the ocean along the cliffs or hiking on one of the nearby mountains, it’s a beautiful beach to have a picnic or relax with your family and friends.

Old Orchard Beach is a very popular beach in Maine during the summer. Have you ever seen the OOB stickers on the backs of cars? Now you know that it stands for this popular beach. Spend your day playing beach games on miles of sand, soaking in the sun, or floating in the water. They even have the Old Orchard Pier and Amusement Park. On the Pier you can find places to eat, drink and shop. I recommend the Pier Fries, they seem to be everyone else’s favorite as well. The amusement park has rides for all ages, an arcade game center, and even a ferris wheel.

Ocean Park Beach is located right down the beach from Old Orchard Beach. This is a good beach if you’re looking for something a little more quiet. A secret area for summer renters where you can be close enough to enjoy the excitement of Old Orchard Beach but also have your own space.

Crescent Beach in Cape Elizabeth is the perfect beach to take your family too. The waves are often subtle so it’s perfect for the little ones! Plus the snack shack is always a favorite. A very relaxing, kid friendly beach.

Reid State Park in Georgetown is another beach with beautiful views. This beach has the sand but also has the rocks. You can climb or just look out over the beach. Although they don’t have a snack shack it’s one of my favorite places to bring a picnic. Especially during sunset, but don’t forget the bug spray!

Willard Beach located in South Portland looks right out to the little islands of the coast. It’s a small beach that’s perfect for the family and even your dogs (only at certain times of the day) The views of Fort Gorges, Peaks Island, and Cushing Island are amazing. One thing though to keep an eye out for is the boats traveling in the deeper waters, but during high tide you have plenty of swimming room. They have a jungle gym, snack shack, and even showers. The perfect place for a day at the beach.

Higgins Beach in Kennebunkport is perfect for everyone. There is so much sand during low tide that you will always find a place to park your stuff. Whether you want to try surfing on one end of the beach or stay near the calmer water on the other end, there is something for everyone. You”ll always find kids playing in the warm tidal pools or building sand castles.

Long Sands Beach also known as York Beach is located in York. This is a very popular stretch of sand that even out of staters will come up to use. Very sandy and sometimes crowded but if you’re looking for a place to lay at the beach, or take a dip in the water this is the beach for you.
