Blogs are the new black. In a world where information is blogged and out there before the event is even finished, it’s important to stay informed and updated on all relevant information. Some are funny, some are informative, and some are stylish. Whatever they are, they’re the best. Here is the collection of our favorite blogs:

1. Cupcakes and Cashmere. Cupcakes and Cashmere is a lifestyle blog written by uber stylish Emily Schuman, who discusses fashion, cooking, decorating, and makeup. Her most recent post was on spring makeup must-haves. She shares recipes in a step by step process, recent scores at flea markets, the organizational plan behind her closet, and simple ways to improve your home. Want the perfect beachy waves? Emily has got that covered, with her easy to follow, how-to steps to the perfect hair. The best part about Cupcakes and Cashmere is Emily’s amazing style, and fearless way of pairing different patterns and textures to create the perfect outfit. Her trendy, girly style makes her a fashion icon. Follow her at @byEmily, or visit www.cupcakesandcashmere.com.

2. Post Secret. Post Secret is a community art project where people mail in their secrets on postcards to creator Frank Warren. Some are sad, “I want to die;” some are happy, “You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me;” and some are just plain funny, “Sometimes I think Tucker Max is the only person truly living life.” The secrets are inspiring, touching, and give a great perspective on life. Warren updates the site with new secrets every Sunday, and the site has inspired multiple books, tours, and shows at art galleries across the country. Visit www.postsecret.com to see the secrets.

3. Barstool Sports. Self-proclaimed “smut” David Portnoy, creator of Barstool Sports, keeps everyone laughing with daily features like “Guess That A**,” “Smokeshow of the Day,” and remarks on various emails readers send in. Portnoy’s running commentary on Boston sports and happenings is provocative and edgy, yet extremely funny. The Barstool brand has expanded to include New York and Philadelphia branches, a college-based BarstoolU, and Stool La La, written for females. Follow him at @StoolPresidente, and visit www.barstoolsports.com.

4. Refinery29. Refinery29 covers news, fashion, beauty, trends, stores, and shopping and sales. Recent features included “Fashion Face-Off: Maxi vs. Mini Skirts,” “Arm Candy! The Best Bunch of Bangles,” and “What Your Street Style Pose Says About You.” Refinery 29’s writing is funny, current, and edgy, and written for a smart and savvy girl. Follow them at @Refinery29, or visit www.refinery29.com.

5. Sushi with My Girls. Sushi with My Girls’ “about” section says, “There is only one thing about me you really need to know. In my opinion, there is nothing in the world more important than being skinny…And good sush can help with that!” This hilarious blog is dedicated to being “sushi,” meaning “Someone who is A-MAZING, possesses all of the qualities of what is stereotypically jappy, but is not necessarily Jewish. Obviously, this person LOVES sushi.” The site also includes a “Guide to Succes$” for guys, which advocates being a millionaire by 26, be a summer analyst, and get married in Cabo. The Sushi Bible is the best feature on the blog, which dictates that you must watch at least two versions of The Real Housewives, attend spin classes, and attended summer camp when you were young. Find out if you’re “sushi” here: www.sushiwithmygirls.com.

6. Jezebel. “Jezebel: Celebrity, Sex, Fashion for Women. Without Airbrushing.” Their title pretty much sums it up, but this but this blog does so much more. Recent headlines are a mix of news, human interest pieces, and all things pop culture. Besides being entertaining, Jezebel is a great source of real, hard news, and keeps readers updated on current headlines. Read more at www.jezebel.com.

7. HuffPostCollege. The college edition of the internet’s newspaper, The Huffington Post, is a great
source of information for college students, with relevant, informative, and useful articles. The site breaks colleges into section by Northeast, The South, The West, and The Midwest, and publishes articles related to that region. HuffPost College is for the smart and informed collegiette™. 8. BroBible. BroBible’s title explains what they’re all about: “Bro Code, Hot Girls, Funny Stories and Videos, Frat Music, College Stories, Sports News and Videos.” This site is clearly designed for males, but females with a sense of humor and love for all things funny will love BroBible too; similar to how there are tons of female Stoolies out there. Regular features include “Ask a Babe,” “Girl to Bring Home to Mom,” “25 Best Hangover Foods,” and the very true (who knew they were catching on to us?), “15 Ways Girls Try to Look Hotter on Facebook,” in which they call out girls for making a kissy face in pictures, which they fondly dub ‘the duck face.’ For lots of laughs, follow them at @BroBible, or visit www.brobible.com.
