10 Airbnb’s That Will Make You Want to Quit School and Travel

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Maine chapter.

Coming back from spring break is rough. You’ve just tasted a sample of freedom and then it’s back to the grind with full force- capstones, dissertations, finals. For some of us, graduation is just around the corner, so why not dream a little and check out some amazing places you can rent? Maybe it’s time to start hinting that vacations make great graduation gifts…

In the United States:

– Private LA House with Pool, Hot Tub, and Cabana. $93 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2908747?s=6yUnlPb3This place has an outdoor kitchen and an outdoor shower. Between that and the pool, hot tub, bar, garden and cabana, I don’t think I’d ever go inside. It’s got room for five and a bunch of instruments for you to use- sounds like a poolside jam session to me!

– Idaho Inn Shaped Like a Giant Beagle, $98 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/26707I had to include this one- it’s literally a giant beagle you can sleep in. There’s lots of things to do for the outdoorsy folks such as hiking and horseback riding. And of course, your pooches are welcome to stay as well. Next stop, Cottonwood Idaho!

– Beachfront Modern Miami Apartment, $169 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/933482This swanky pad has direct access to both the beach and a private pool. You even get to have valet parking for your car! The 180 degree view of the beach looks dreamy. This is how you take Miami in style.

– Super Hip Apartment in Portland Oregon, $80 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2540196?s=LB_yjNgHThis is what I imagine everyone’s apartment in Portland must look like- vintage inspired, eclectic, and filled with cool plants. This apartment would make a great home base to come back to while visiting everything Portland has to offer.

– Magical Hawaii Cottage, $142 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/283017?s=hx5AEfeZThis cottage nestled under a ficus tree looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. It’s steps away from beaches, but secluded and private. It’s close to snorkeling and a place that has hot tubs and massages. Yes, please!

Internationally (grab your passport!):

– Apartment With Rooftop Pool in Vietnam, $43 dollars a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5676242?s=B8aI8XL7Most people don’t consider Vietnam when they’re looking at vacation spots. Big mistake. It has beautiful beaches, rivers, buddhist pagodas but also bustling cities as well! United States Dollars go far in Vietnam, ensuring delicious food and lots of shopping. This luxury one-bedroom apartment is totally private and has access to a rooftop pool!

– Artsy Houseboat in Denmark, $140 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/663908First off, Denmark is awesome. Copenhagen, where this rental is, was once a Viking fishing settlement. You can check out castles, museums, beautiful gardens, and reconstructed villages. And of course, there are a lot of nightclubs as well! This rental is an actual houseboat that can sleep up to six people (which would end up being around $23 a night per person!) If you’re visiting in the summertime you can hop right out and take a morning swim.

– Waterfront Retreat in New Zealand, $195 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/780258?s=hebTs5ptCan you say “dream honeymoon?” New Zealand alone looks so gorgeous that it isn’t real, but this luxurious house on the edge of the Waipu Wildlife Refuge takes it to the next level. You can swim, kayak, and drink some wine overlooking the beach. It’s a private little getaway, but close enough to enjoy the restaurants and shops of Waipu village.

– Historic English Castle in the UK, $208 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/13253This is a swanky castle where you get to have your pick from any of the 15 rooms! It was built in 1841 so there’s a distinct possibility it’s haunted. But why not get to see what it’s like to live like a king?

– Chic Apartment with Loft in Paris, $104 a night.https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/589203?s=qHBAHdg_This apartment is effortlessly classy. It’s open, filled with natural light, and peaceful. It’s also conveniently located near markets, bars, restaurants, and two metro stations. c’est magnifique!
