Meet Julie Barker! Originally from Marshalltown, Iowa, Barker is a junior at the University of Iowa. She goes above and beyond what is expected of her being just 20-years-old. Not only was she accepted to Iowa’s nursing program early, but she now maintains a 3.76 GPA while balancing volunteer hours at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. On top of her studies, she is an RA at Hillcrest Hall for her second year in a row. Barker serves as an excellent role model for the young ladies that live on her floor by always being willing and available to give advice or offer guidance. To top it all off, she is a cadet in the ROTC. As a junior in the ROTC, she is put in leadership positions that are meant to develop her as a future leader. Her strength is measured by her ability to adapt in stressful situations. Barker is an inspiration to all females here at Iowa. With her impressive resume and big heart she truly deserves this weeks Campus Celebrity. Congratulations, Julie! Keep up the good work!
