It’s Greek philanthropy season and whether you’re Greek or not, there are so many ways to get involved and help Greek affiliations raise some serious money for their philanthropies. During the month of March, seven Greek organizations put on events for their philanthropies. Pi Kappa Phi hosted their War on Roses competition to raise money for their own foundation, The Ability Experience, that assists people with disabilities. Gamma Rho Lambda’s Sunshine Project was dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ+ community by giving students the opportunity to fills out Sunflower Grams. Pi Beta Phi hosted their Pi Phi Sugar High, where all proceed went to their Pi Beta Phi Foundation that is focused on literacy initiatives to help children develop a love of reading. Sigma Pi successfully raised $1,900 with their Sorority Superbowl flag football tournament for Sean Vernon’s Amazing Day Foundation, a foundation that works to reduce suicide in college students. Delta Zeta’s Sundae Funday was a hit and assisted The Starkey Hearing Foundation. Alpha Delta Pi members took pies to their face at their carnival themed philanthropy event in honor of the Ronald McDonald House. Sigma Lambda Beta hosted their School Drive to collect items for a Chicago charter school.

Delta Gamma Anchor Splash

Alpha Phi’s Red Dress Gala

Zeta Beta Tau’s Get on the Ball
What: The men of Zeta Beta Tau will be rolling a six-foot ball around the Anne Cleary Walkway in efforts to receive signatures for charity. Each signature is matched with a donation from a local business. The kickoff to this event will take the evening before and will include raffles, volleyball, beanbag toss, food, and guest speaker, Aly Olson, who was Miss Iowa 2014. More information here.
