The transition from October to November not only brought Halloween to the University of Iowa, but also a flood of parents and families of UI students. The university offers activities to keep families busy during their time on campus for about $80 per person. Activities this year included Mission IMPROVable, Halloween Hawkfest, a Murder Mystery Dinner, and campus tours. Perhaps the most popular activity of the weekend for families, however, was tailgating. With an 11 a.m. kickoff against Northwestern, students and their families flocked to tailgates as early as 7 a.m. The Hawkeyes were victorious against the Wildcats, winning 48-7, a great reason for families to head downtown and celebrate afterwards.
