Fall Makeup Releases That You Need In Your Life

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Don’t let the warm weather fool you, it is actually fall in Iowa City, and you know what that means: sweaters, hot coffee, pumpkin everything and, of course, fall makeup releases! Honestly, this is the best time of the year for beauty addicts everywhere because there is the usual herd of makeup releases with a beautiful fall color palette, but stores usually put out their holiday sets at this time. This is kind of ridiculous in my opinion, however, this doesn’t stop me from wanting to buy everything. Here are the fall makeup releases that I have been obsessed with and that I think you should have in your life.

1.  Fenty Beauty

If you haven’t heard about it yet, this is a brand new makeup line to Sephora that was designed and curated by Rihanna. The line includes everything from foundation and contour sticks to highlighters and brushes. To be honest, I thought that this was over-hyped by all of the big beauty bloggers because of Rihanna being a celebrity… until I tried it for myself. One amazing thing about this new brand is that is was created to be inclusive to ALL skin tones. There are forty different foundations to choose from so everyone can find their shade, and the rest of the products aren’t tailored to a specific skin type. This shouldn’t seem very revolutionary, but it sadly is due to the nature of the beauty industry. While everything I have tried so far is great, if you could only pick up one product, I would definitely recommend the Killawatt Freestyle highlighters. The formula is great, and while I own a million highlighters, the one that I own in “Mean Money/ Hu$tla Baby” is the one that I have worn every day for the past couple of weeks.

2.  Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette

To be honest, I have been eyeing this palette all summer, and it finally just launched! It is a beautiful palette full of warm colors, purples and a ton of glitter. It might hurt your wallet, but I think it is the type of palette that you can create a ton of looks with in order to get a lot of use out of it.

3. Tarte Blush Bazaar Amazonian Clay Blush Palette

In case you haven’t tried them yet, the Tarte Amazonian clay blushes are some of the best on the market. They claim to last for twelve hours, and they definitely live up to that expectation. The full size of these blushes retail for $29, and with this palette you get ten blushes for only $44. These blushes are not full size, but with that many to choose from, you probably won’t run out for a very long time. Blushes have quickly become my number one makeup obsession, so this might be one of my favorite products out of the fall launches.

4.  Anastasia Subculture Palette

This is an item that has gotten a lot of heat in social media recently, but as someone who has tried it and put it to the test, I can safely say that I approve. The issues that people have with this palette is that it has a lot of “fall out” and that it is hard to blend out on the eyes. However, when I tried this palette, I found it’s not the easiest palette to work with, you can get beautiful fall looks with it with time and practice. That being said, I don’t recommend this palette to beginners. I think that it is more for people out there with a lot of experience looking to create an intricate fall look.

5. “Sephora Favorites” Value Sets

If you are someone like me who likes to try things before committing to the full-size, these sets are for you. They are always a hit throughout the year but now is when they have the biggest sets and the best variety. There is everything from mascara sets with seven deluxe sized mascaras plus two full sized mascaras for only $48, to sets with a variety of bestselling products so that you can feel like a beauty blogger without spending thousands of dollars on makeup. There is something for everybody here, and to find them online just type in “Sephora favorites” into the search bar on sephora.com
