Meet this week’s campus celebrity Kelsey Lox!

Kelsey is a sophomore double majoring in dance and human physiology with hopes of becoming a physical therapist. She originally hails from Edwardsville, Illinois, and decided to attend the University of Iowa because of their excellent dance program and large student population.

Kelsey is a member of Chi Omega and serves as the campus activity director.  Through Chi Omega, she became involved with Dance Marathon and served as a family representative this past February.  As a family representative, Kelsey was in charge of keeping contact with a certain family and led family rooms at the event.

Despite her busy school and social schedule, Kelsey still finds time to work. She is a waitress at one of Iowa City’s newest restaurants, Ride.

What is your favorite thing about the University of Iowa?

I love that there is so much to be involved with.

What is your favorite thing about being in Chi Omega?

I love being surrounded by such smart, driven ladies. Chi O also provides me with opportunities to get involved around the community.

What would you say to girls debating whether to rush or not?

I would say that they should definitely go through recruitment to see what it’s like. It is also a great way to make connections and meet people.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Hopefully dancing in company in California. I would love to join a dance company and then become their physical therapist.

If you could have dinner with any famous person who would it be and why?

Emma Watson because she’s perfect at everything she does and I want to be her. Also, because I’m a huge Harry Potter fan.

What advice would you give to people trying to decided whether to attend the University of Iowa or not?

The University of Iowa has a great balance of academics, sports, clubs and places to have fun! It’s a great school overall.
