Cancer is a prevalent disease. Almost everyone knows someone diagnosed with cancer. It’s a long and sad battle. Everyone can help by joining this organization!
New Friends
When you join Dance Marathon, you get to join a small group that has socials and sits together during the meetings. You spend a lot of time with these people and meet people from other groups, as well.
Meeting the Families
Each small group is assigned a family of a kiddo who has been diagnosed with cancer. Not only that, but you get to attend the functions of the kids, like the sports they participate in.
Cool Apparel
Everyone loves a free T-Shirt — especially if you receive it by helping a family in need. People who attend the event wear t-shirts according to how much money they raised. There is also a lot of fun Dance Marathon apparel now for sale in the Hawk Shop!
DANCING IS FUN
If you raise $500 or more for Dance Marathon, you get to go the big event. At this event, all members dance for 24 hours without caffeine or sitting down. Dancing with your friends for 24 hours is too great to pass up. Some of the kiddos come, too!
Inspirational Speakers
If you sign up for Dance Marathon, you get to hear lots of touching stories from people directly affected by cancer. These stories allow everyone to see what cancer does and encourage everyone to keep fundraising.
National Organization
The University of Iowa isn’t the only school that participates in Dance Marathon. A lot of other schools help as well. By joining Dance Marathon, you join a huge movement among 250 other schools.
FTK
FTK stands for For The Kids. Ultimately, the reason we do Dance Marathon is For The Kids. Cancer is a terrible disease that no one deserves. Join Dance Marathon FTK today!
