10 Of Your Childhood Disney Channel Crushes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? I was sitting in the library scrolling through my Facebook feed when I came across a post about the ‘old’ Disney Channel, which made me think about my childhood and how great it was because of the shows on that channel. My little 10-year-old self was very much invested in these shows, so much that I even had crushes on the boys of the TV shows (Don’t lie, you fancied them, too). So let me refresh your memory and re-introduce you to some of your Disney crushes.

1 & 2.  Jesse and Jake from Hannah Montana

I don’t know about you guys, but this was the hardest decision of my childhood. Jake or Jesse? The struggle was real. Both of them were definitely attractive, and they were almost too perfect, but we needed to decide who was right for our beloved Miley. While Jake was the charming one, Jesse had this bad boy vibe, and he was pretty talented when it came to music! (I’ve always preferred Jesse.)

3. Troy Bolton and his entire basketball team from High School Musical

Obviously Troy Bolton had to be on this list! He sings, he plays basketball, and, from what we’ve seen in the movies, he’s a total romantic. Let’s not forget his friends, though! Chad, Jason and Zeke. They were all pretty adorable. The High School Musical series was so popular when it first came out, you were probably fighting over your friends as to who got which basketball player because they were all absolutely dreamy.

4. Chad from Sonny With a Chance

They say opposites attract. At first we were supposed to hate this character because he was infuriating and always tried to sabotage Demi Lovato’s character, Sonny. But then, as episodes passed and shenanigans became old, we secretly wanted them to hook up, and it happened! After that, you knew wanted your own Chad who you could lovingly argue with.

5. Justin from Wizards of Waverly Place

Who didn’t like the older brother on this show? With his magic and his sense of humour, what’s not to crush on? Sure, he had his dorky moments, but hey, being a teenage wizard can do that to you. He had his share of girlfriends on the show, and that only made you want to be in their place because of how sweet he was.

6 & 7. Zack and Cody from Suite Life of Zack & Cody

These two brothers stole your heart and still have it now, too. Not only are they both regularly active on social media, but Cole Sprouse also plays the mysterious Jughead on the new show Riverdale. Their crazy pranks and adventures made you want to stay at the Tipton. Zack and Cody were everyone’s favorite twins, and we watched them grow from boys to teenagers in the Suite Life on Deck, which made it harder to part with them after the show ended.

8, 9 & 10. The Jonas Brothers from Camp Rock & Jonas

Last but not least! Now they’re all really successful, but we knew them when we watched them on Disney Channel. Not going to lie, they were probably one of the first boy bands I really enjoyed listening to. They were adorable teenage boys *wink* *wink*, with awesome voices and had some sort of charm to them that we couldn’t resist.

So now that I’ve refreshed your memory, you may go and watch these shows all over again for our favorite guys because you’re never too old for Disney. Crush overload!
