This year has been difficult to get through so it shouldn’t be a surprise that our Christmas lists might be a little longer than usual. In order to help Santa out, here’s a list of what we actually need this Christmas.
1. The end of slut shaming
A woman choosing to be open about her sexuality does not make her a slut nor does it require a comment from you.
2. The elimination of the Gender Wage Gap
SURPRISE! Having a vagina does not make you less competent than a man.
3. The end of victim blaming
Speaking up about traumatic events is hard enough without being blamed for it. Hold abusers accountable for their actions. Stop turning heroes into villains.
4. The deactivation of Donald Trump’s Twitter account
Better yet, just take away his internet privilege (and President privilege).
5. Courses on what sexual assault is and how to have consensual sexual experiences.
This year has made it clear that some people still haven’t learned the concept of consent.
6. Respect
You can disagree with others without being rude and disrespectful. *Cue the Aretha Franklin*
7. And finally, another season of Stranger Things.
Nothing brings people together quite like America’s favorite children.
