What It’s Like to be a Communication Major at UConn

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Being a Communication Major has its ups and downs.  Here are a few things every Comm major goes through here at UConn.

Making the trek to Arjona for all of your classes and meetings.

Most of your professors spend more time showing clips from Friends, How I Met Your Mother, and John Oliver than they do lecturing.

People tell you pretty much every day how easy your major is.

Your friends are jealous that your homework often consists of watching video clips on YouTube.

Feeling an instant bond with the only other Comm major in your Biology class.

Learning the same things over and over in different classes. *coughcoughattachmenttheorycough*

Having a class with Rory McGloin.

Having to take COMM3000Q when you’re trying to escape math.

When you finally give your last speech in COMM1100.

Having a lot of classes in Arjona makes it easy to walk to Starbucks before or after class.

Praying for a decent group in COMM3100 otherwise the rest of the semester will be a disaster.

Everyone hates on you for being a Comm major, but you love it.
