This Friday, UConn collegiettes were visited by the Victoria Secret PINK Pop Up Swim Shop.
Workers started setting up the giant pink dome Thursday night in preparation for the event, which took place at the top of Fairfield Way.
As the day went on, the line to get in grew, almost reaching past the Student Union as girls braved the gloomy, rainy day to get their hands on some PINK Merchandise.
Shoppers were greeted by members of the UConn PINK Team and PINK employees as they entered the dome that was lit up all in pink (what else would you expect?). The inside was decorated for a “Spring Break” atmosphere, complete with palm trees, a fake grass carpet, and of course- bathing suits and clothing from PINK’s summer collection that customers could try on purchase at kiosks in the center of the shop.
Haeley Mulholland, a sophomore studying Business Management and Communication, is a PINK campus representative for UConn.
“This is a really awesome sale. Only a few schools got chosen so we’re really excited that it came to UConn,” she said.
Mulholland became involved with PINK through the UConn PINK Facebook page. The organization utilizes social media and members of their campus team to accomplish their ultimate goal of raising brand awareness on campus.
Missed out on the sale? No fear- UConn PINK has some other great events coming up. The team is currently four weeks into their Digital Scavenger Hunt where girls can look out for stickers posted around campus, scan it with their PINK Nation App, and then post the photo to Twitter and Instagram, tagging @uconnpinkreps and hash tagging #PINKLovesCollege. There are still two weeks left to participate!
