A UConn Collegiette’s Finals Week Survival Guide

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

It’s that time of year again: finals.  Whether you are struggling through a final paper or neck deep in hundreds of index cards, everyone needs a little pick-me-up.  Check out this list of things to remember to help you get through this week.

Stay comfortable and cute

Those long days in the library are no fun in tight jeans.  Pair leggings with a big comfy sweater to chill out and stay warm (although with the temperatures lately, you might need a t-shirt!).  Planning on staying at Homer all night? Don’t forget a comfy and stylish blanket (check out this Vera Bradley throw for inspiration!).

Keep everything together

Finals week means lugging tons of books, snacks, chargers and other items to campus, making it easy to forget something important.  Find ways to keep everything in one simple place- for example, put your ID, money and credit cards in something like the Vera Bradley Zip ID case, which has a key ring too!

Stay fueled

Snacks, snacks and more snacks!  These can make those hours of studying infinitely better, and help keep you focused.  Try foods with protein like cheese sticks or nuts, or throw in an apple or banana for a healthy break.  It’s really hard to get around to making dinner if you don’t have a meal plan during finals week, so don’t feel bad if you have to spend money ordering out (It’s worth it anyway, if it’s someplace delicious like Chipotle).

Stay clean and looking good

During finals week, it can be easy to skip a shower and neglect your appearance.  No one is expecting a full face of makeup in the library, but there are little things you can do to look good, which will make you feel better and be more productive. For a simple way to make your hair look effortlessly beautiful (and remind you of better summer days on the beach), try TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Sea Salt Spray.  If your days need little bit of sparkle, why not try a flash tattoo? Michael Kors has debuted the 24K Brilliant Gold Scented Flash Tattoos that are simple enough for everyday wear, yet perfect for a night out to celebrate your last final.

Good luck, collegiettes, and here’s to the end of a great semester!
