Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which for many means Christmas decor. This year, two starkly different trends come together to reminisce on Christmas past.
On one side, there is Christmas Classic: JEWEL-TONED reds, and greens with a cozy feel. Think berries, Plaids, and garland.
- Here, you see classic plaids, striped ornaments and Santas sprinkled throughout the tree:
- Garlands are a staple in this style:
- Again, sticking with the classics you see simple hearts with dark reds and quilted stockings, keeping up with that homey look:
- Flannels and berries yet again! This tree adds some extra nature with baby’s-breath bundles:
On the other side there’s colorful and bright: still jewel-toned but with a colorful twist. Think pinks, teals, and lime green.
- Anthropologie seems to be the queen of Christmas this decor season. This wreath is full of colorful figurines, playing on old-school decor, but puts a spin on it with the blues and yellows:
- And these candle holders follow that colorful trend. Bonus: you can use them even after the season is over!
- These patterned stockings?! So fun. You’ll see pinks and blues all throughout this room:
- This room pulls in a colorful tree! Yet again, pinks and blues along with a fun Tiffany blue wrapping paper:
Conclusion
So, what will it be? A classic and cozy, or merry and bright Christmas? If you’re going for longevity, I would go with the classics. They are timeless and you can use them year after year. Colorful decor, on the other hand, is going to be FUN. You could even throw in some disco ball ornaments! Sparkly and colorful could probably even last until your New Year’s party. Both are a good choice for your Christmas decor cart this season!
