2024 has been the year of some of my all-time favorite trends like bows, leather jackets, and low-rise everything! With that being said, I can’t be the only one excited to see what trends will blossom with the warmer weather. Spring fashion can be really fun because items suitable for all types of weather can be utilized. I’ve compiled a list of some pieces that will be perfect for your wardrobe this spring.

Tops

High Necklines

High necklines are in this season, but not like the halter top that’s been sitting in your drawer since 2016. High-neck sleeveless tops are the perfect basic tops for your 20s — they’re a little bit classier and with an open back it can still be fun!

This white top would be a great basic for your wardrobe this year. Everyone needs a white tank, and this one is definitely the tank of 2024.
Layering tops

Layering tops are going to be a great way to spice up an outfit and also a great way to stay comfortable on chilly spring days. A simple white button-up will be essential to execute this trend this spring. Maybe even throw on a white long-sleeve with a sweater over it and call it a day.

This outfit is absolutely adorable! The layered white tee and sweater look with shorts is going to be a classic this Spring.
Sambas

Sambas were the shoe that had the internet divided last year, but the consensus this spring is that they’re perfect. Adidas stripes have made a comeback in general this year and the sambas are just cute enough to work. The Handball Spezial ‘Navy gum’ edition shoes have been all over my Pinterest feed and will be in my closet soon.

This adorable Pinterest look features the ‘Navy gum’ color Adidas Sambas, styled with a floral blue skirt.
Ballet Flats

Although they are one of my least favorite fashion trends of this year, ballet flats are here to stay. I’m not sure about you, but I think ballet flats are a risk, but in Matilda Djerf we trust, and she has clearly shown her stance on the issue. Even though I’ve emphasized my reluctance to jump on this trend I have to admit, classic blue jeans and a white tee look timeless with a cute pair of red flats.

If you’re not sure how to style your ballet flats, stay timeless like this outfit. Classic blue jeans with a layered sweater is a great way to style flats casually and the red bag is the perfect accessory to tie this outfit together.

Bottoms

Mini skirts

Finally!! The legs are the outfit this spring because the mini skirt is here to stay. The maxi skirt had its moments in 2023 and there is certainly still room for a longer skirt in 2024, but the mini skirt will dominate spring. A mini skirt is a great way to spice up your basic top and transform a boring outfit into something hot. This all-black outfit with a high neckline top and black mini skirt has been all over Pinterest and for good reason. Besides the epic blonde on black element to this photo, the mini skirt makes this all-black fit perfect for a night out.

All-black miniskirt outfits can be absolutely stunning. This spring try pairing this look with some kitten heels to make it more suitable for warm weather.
Straight leg jeans

This year wide-leg low-rise jeans have clearly been a fan favorite, but we’ve begun to move towards slimmer-legged jeans. Don’t worry, skinny jeans aren’t making a comeback quite yet, but slim straight-leg jeans certainly are. These can pair nicely with oversized and fitted tops. I’ve seen this style of jeans worn a lot with platform UGGs this winter, but I think the staple shoe for these jeans will be closer to a ballet flat, or slimmer sneaker.

This look is one of my favorites because it’s so simple. It really shows off how flattering this style of jeans is.

Fabrics

Sheer white

We’ve seen sheer slowly make its way into the spotlight, and it’s finally time. I’ve seen girls in cute sheer tops, skirts, blouses, etc. and I’m obsessed. Sheerness adds texture to an outfit that other fabrics can’t. This spring we’re seeing a throwback to Coachella in the 2010s with lacy sheer skirts.

This adorable $41 skirt from Edikted is the perfect example of a staple sheer skirt this season.
This shirt is another great example of a sheer set, and I’m loving it!
Cheetah print

Animal print may seem tacky, but after seeing it executed I have no doubt this will be in everyone’s spring wardrobe. After seeing Devon lee Carlson once again rock a cheetah print shirt I was already on my way to get my hands on anything cheetah pint.

Accessories

Chunky charm Necklaces

Chunky charms are the coolest accessory if you’re wearing a low-cut top, or any top. There are also so many unique chains to wear a chunky charm on. I’ve been loving leather string as a chain for a chunky charm and would love to see this style in action this spring.

This look from Pinterest incorporates chunky charm necklaces which adds to the outfit.
Long statement Necklaces

Dainty chains and layering have had their moment to shine, but this spring, long necklaces are all the rage. Long strings on beads or pearls will be the statement you’re looking for this season. Free People has a great selection of unique necklaces that will definitely elevate your outfits.

Hopefully, some of these items sparked your creativity and will be seen in your closet this spring. Style can be so fun to experiment with and with the warmer weather on the way this is a great time to add some new items to your closet.
