The Cutest Crochet Inspo You Need This Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

If you’re anything like me and love to crochet but can’t think of anything to make, keep reading! I’ve put together a list of seven of the cutest things to crochet this winter for both beginners and those who are more advanced.

P.S. Even if you can’t crochet, there are a ton of small crochet businesses you can support! If you love any of these designs but would rather not make them, look for sustainable, slow fashion brands to buy from.

1. Leg warmers

Leg warmers are making a comeback, and personally, I’m obsessed! Not only are they trendy, but also practical—they’ll keep your ankles warm and cozy during Connecticut’s winter. They’re pretty easy to make (I followed this quick tutorial to make mine) and I love how they look with platform Doc Martens or mini Uggs.

2. fingerless gloves

Another trend that I can’t get enough of are fingerless gloves. I love how they keep your hands warm while leaving your fingers out so you can still show your rings and nails and go on your phone. The bow on these adds the prettiest touch!

3. HandBags

Crochet handbags give off the coziest winter vibes, especially in a neutral color like this one. If handbags aren’t your thing, you could even make a tote bag with some thick yarn to bring to class.

4. A BLANKET

After a long day of classes on a cold, windy campus, all I want to do is curl up with a warm blanket when I get home. My personal favorite yarn for this is Bernat Blanket Yarn. It’s so soft and comfy, and you can find it at Michaels.

5. SWEATERS

Sweaters are a classic winter must-have. I love how simple and versatile the style of this one is. It’s a timeless piece you can wear for years.

6. COASTERS

Who doesn’t crave a good hot chocolate during winter? These cute coasters are perfect to protect surfaces in your dorm from getting stained, and they’re so fun to make (even for beginners!)

7. book Sleeve

For those who like to cuddle up and read a good book on a snowy night, this is for you! This is the most adorable book sleeve I’ve ever seen, but you can get so creative with this. Another crochet idea for my bookworms is a bookmark—I’ve had my eye on this cute teddy bear one for a while.

Of course, there are lots of other things you could make, like hats, pants, scarves, and headbands, but I hope you were able to get some inspiration from this list! Have fun crocheting this season!
