Spring Lookbook: College Student Edition

Dressing for the Spring season can be really challenging sometimes given the unpredictable weather. If you live in Connecticut (like me), you’re dealing with 75 degree, blue skies type weather one day, and 50 degree, rain all day another. Here’s a school week’s worth of outfits that can work with the constantly changing spring weather and still follow trends.

The T-Shirt

Oversized t-shirts worn as dresses have become a staple in my wardrobe because not only can they look really cute on with the right accessories, but they’re super comfortable. This vintage Tommy Hilfiger one is perfect to wear on a partly cloudy day because of the long sleeves.

The Long Sleeve

Wearing long sleeves under a t-shirt is by far one of my favorite trends that has come back this year. Yes, it is very early 2000s Avril Lavigne, but it lets you wear a nice graphic out without being cold. I decided to keep with the theme of comfort and paired it will leggings and white tube socks.

The Mom Jeans

Mom jeans have been popular for a few years now. I like to say that their kind of the new boyfriend jean, a definite wardrobe staple that can elevate any casual look. On this day, it wasn’t too hot or too cold, that perfect mid 60s degree weather, so needless to say it worked out well.

The Sundress

You can’t think of Spring fashion and not think of a classic sundress, mine even happens to be yellow with sunflowers. Dresses are definitely meant to be worn out on nice days, but you can always style them with a cardigan on a colder day, and on a really hot day I would swap out the Nikes for some sandals.

The Long Denim Shorts

This is definitely my favorite outfit of the week. I love the long denim shorts trend that has come up this season, and the vintage Disney pullover just makes the outfit look effortless. If it's still a little too cold to be without out a jacket, and oversized light blue denim jacket would fit nicely.

The Stripped Pants

Striped pants like these are great to have in your wardrobe because they can easily be dressed up or down. I took the more casual approach and dressed them down with you guessed it, white Nikes, and a yellow tank top. This outfit is definitely a top choice for those days you actually feel like dressing up just a little bit more.

You don’t have to be a fashion expert to make incorporating this seasons trends easy and obtainable for your lifestyle. It can be a bit daunting at times, especially when the weather isn’t always on your side, but modify the Spring fashion you see to fit what you are comfortable with. And every now and then try a piece little bit out of your comfort zone, you can be surprised by how much you like it :)
