In its highly anticipated return, the third season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (SLOMW) was released on Nov. 13, 2025, on Hulu. With all the drama that fans couldn’t wait for, this season featured high tensions between the women and the addition of some familiar faces.
In classic reality TV show fashion, all 10 episodes of the season were released at the same time for fans to binge-watch. However, I’m happy to report that I put my delayed gratification skills to the test and watched the episodes over a three-day span (actually, I was forced against my will due to exams). And a week later, during Thanksgiving break, I made my list of what I’m thankful for a bit longer: the announcement of season four! Just a month after the third season was released, SLOMW was renewed for a fourth season, coming in early 2026. Before we dive into predictions, here’s a recap of the third season.
Celestial Chaos: Recap of Season 3
At the end of the second season, fans were left with a cliffhanger regarding Jessi Draper and an alleged affair with Vanderpump Villa’s Marciano Brunette. This rumor is addressed in the first few episodes of the third season, after Layla Taylor admits to Draper that Brunette came clean to her about him and Draper’s affair. While Draper comes clean about her emotional affair, she denies ever hooking up with Brunette, later confirmed when costars Mayci Neeley and Mikayla Matthews form an investigative alliance to uncover the truth. After uncovering the truth, tensions arise between Demi Engemann and Draper as Engemann is also accused of having an affair with Brunette.
Besides the tensions between Draper and Engemann, there is also tension when Whitney Leavitt returns to the show in episode five after being promised an audition for Dancing with the Stars. Declaring her goal to start her own MomTok, Whitney experiences animosity from her costars because of her questionable motives.
The last point of drama in the third season of SLOMW is between Taylor Frankie-Paul and her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, Dakota Mortensen. Paul and Mortensen have had an on-and-off again toxic relationship for years, and while there was a glimmer of hope during the third season, they remain broken up when Paul discovers texts between Mortensen and a family friend.
Although there was much drama on the show throughout the third season, there were also lots of laughs and bonding between the women. Jen Affleck returned after battling with prenatal depression, and celebrated her pregnancy alongside Neeley and Matthews. Momtok also travelled to Hulu’s “Get Real” event this past April and Stagecoach in California. While the women bonded over seeing Khloé Kardashian and cowgirl hats, Matthews opened up about her past trauma and let fans into an emotional journey of healing. Finally, Miranda McWhorter became an official member of MomTok, and fans learned of her crazy ATV-riding abilities.
The Fourth Testament: Predictions for season 4
More Mormon-Style Drama
Of course, what is SLOMW without the drama? I predict that the fourth season will come with a whole new set of dramatic moments and feuds between the women. Specifically, the feuds between Engemann and Draper and Leavitt and the rest of her costars will heat up (please, just no more hand gestures from Engemann). While the rest of the women remain close, I can’t imagine a new season without husband and boyfriend drama (hopefully it’s good riddance to Mortensen, though). I predict the third season was also not the last we’ll see of Brunette, especially if Engemann comes back as a main character in season four.
More Laughs (Hopefully Not the Fruity Pebble Kind)
In this new season, I’m also predicting more fun moments between the women. As with the trip to St. George, the trip to Stagecoach, and Neeley’s and Matthews’ three-hour trip (plus two hours of snack and pee stops) to the middle of nowhere to meet up with Brunette, this new season will feature new trips and hopefully some more investigative expeditions. I’m also predicting the women will go to even more events, especially with how popular SLOMW grows with each new season.
What I love about SLOMW and hope to see more of in the fourth season is candid moments between the women. While there are lots of times and situations, like any reality TV show, that might be scripted or created by the producers, seeing moments where the girls are truly themselves always makes me smile.
More Heartfelt Moments
As I just mentioned, seeing candid and heartfelt moments between the women is what I’m looking forward to the most for the fourth season (besides the drama, of course). I would love to see Matthews’ progress in her journey of therapy and healing from the abuse she endured as a child, and Affleck opening up about her experience with depression will help many fans know they’re not alone with mental health struggles.
We got a glimpse of the bond between the women during the last episode of the third season, when the women got together to each talk about what they’d been feeling and reestablish some of the love they’d lost to the drama and feuds. Although some fans might’ve been disappointed that the season didn’t end on a cliffhanger (besides Paul’s “date” with Chase McWhorter), I thought this season finale showed how much MomTok values friendship above all. Without a dramatic season finale, fans were left knowing how genuine and authentic the friendships are between the women.
While drama is always a necessity in reality TV shows, SLOMW featuring a cast that are friends before costars makes it extra special. I can’t wait to see how these friendships strengthen in season four.
conclusion
So there you have it: now you’re all caught up on season three of SLOMW, and you have some revelations into what the fourth season might entail. While you might have to wait a few months to see MomTok back together on the big screen, the wait will be worth it. While you wait, make sure to binge-watch the first three seasons, soak in the drama and love, and just pray the next season doesn’t get too sinister!
