With finals week just a few weeks away, its the right time to start prepping to ace your finals! Here are some tips and tricks to start prepping for exams now so that when exam week comes around you won’t be as overwhelmed.

Start catching up on sleep now

We all know how tired we can get throughout the semester, between going out and staying up late studying, but that does not even compare to the exhaustion levels during finals week. Take advantage of Thanksgiving week to catch up on sleep so that you’ll be well-rested and ready to take on late-night study sessions when finals week comes around.

Buy colored pens

This is probably the most important trick I can give you to ace your finals. Start rewriting your notes now from the semester as a way to review. Along the way, color code! I find it best to create a legend, what colors will be used for what, and stick to it. I recommend using a different color for; headers, subheaders, actual information, vocab terms, and examples.

Excercise

Finding time to fit in a workout during finals week may seem like an unnecessary challenge, however exercising has been proven to help with test-taking. Exercising releases hormones and neurotransmitters that have been proven to improve cognitive function (better concentration!) and reduce stress (a seemingly impossible idea during finals). So take the quick hour-long study break and it will reward you at the end of the week.
