Noah “Kahan” Do Anything & More!

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Not only did Noah Kahan bring his mom as his date to the Grammys, but he also released an even more extended of his critically acclaimed album Stick Season (acclaimed by me: I am the critic of course)! With this extended version, he released two new and life-changing collaborations! In this article, I will talk about his four most recent collaborations with a little surprise review at the end of his new song “Forever.”

Homesick (Feat. Sam Fender)

If you thought this song couldn’t get any more heartwrenching, you thought wrong. Sam Fender, a British singer-songwriter known for singing about his struggles in his song “Seventeen Going Under,” adds a new melancholic element to this song. While Kahan laments about not being able to leave the same place that got him sick in the first place, Fender talks about how major societal events, like the riots in England in the 90s, shaped who he is to this day. So whether you’re from England or New England, this song will instill a feeling of nostalgia and loneliness that makes you want to throw up (in a good way of course).

Everywhere, Everything (Feat. Gracie Abrams)

While Kahan normally writes about topics that tug at the heartstrings, this song projects a different feeling. This is a beautiful song for all the hopeless romantics out there. Kahan and Gracie Abrams singing about how they would love someone until they decompose together is sad yet incredibly powerful. Abrams adds a perfect element of back-and-forth conversation that makes this song even better than it already was, which I didn’t even know was possible.

You’re Gonna Go Far (Feat. Brandi Carlile)

Brandi Carlile is someone I never thought I needed to hear on a duet with Kahan. Their voices just blend so perfectly and add just a little more depth to this song. Kahan knows just how to keep his listeners on their toes with these collaborations. This song is already one of my favorites and now I just know it is going to be in my top five on Spotify Wrapped; it is just that good.

Paul Revere (Feat. Gregory Alan Isakov)

Gregory Alan Isakov is one of the best folk singers, in my opinion, and his voice is just the perfect added element this song needed. Although Isakov and Kahan already sang this song together on Kahan’s Stick Season Tour, hearing it so clearly in the record studio just takes me to a whole new world. This song is the perfect song to listen to when it gets dark at 4 p.m. and you’re watching Gilmore Girls in your bed in your dorm. Kahan just knows how to make being from New England his entire personality trait and I am here for it.

Although these collaborations were highly anticipated, I think it would be a shame if I didn’t talk about the other addition to his extended version of Stick Season.

Forever

Kahan has been teasing us with “Forever” on TikTok for weeks now. He had us begging on our knees to release this song. Now that I can listen to this song any time I want, I will never stop listening to it. It is such an adorable love song about finding someone who makes your heart feel rich even though you may not have physical richness. Everything about this song just melts my heart. It is the perfect song to add to your playlist for Valentine’s Day this year along with “Everywhere, Everything” (feat. Gracie Abrams)! Noah Kahan really plays with our emotions on this album by having songs like this on the same album as “The View Between Villages” but I am living for it!

At this rate, every artist is going to beg to collaborate with Noah Kahan. There is nothing he can’t do. It is amazing that he was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys this year and he is out here collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry! By this time next year, he’ll undoubtedly be nominated for and win many other awards and everyone will know his name (I am unbiased of course).
