Mind Over Matters: A Guy’s Perspective (on Love and Relationships)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Ok guys, so today I want to talk about romance and relationships. Summer is over and it’s the start of fall, which is the perfect time to keep that relationship going strong or start to be in one. But why is it that guys always have to be the one to start the conversation of interest? I mean, there are girls that like guys, so why not speak up? How else are we going to know? Yeah, there are signs and hints but who wants to play that whole cat and mouse game? Girls love it when they are being chased and it’s getting old. I don’t know what it is but they just like to play that mind game with us. And you wonder why you drive us away. It’s not that we don’t want to be with you guys, but it’s we have to put in so much effort and eventually, we give up because it takes too long. Ladies, we know you want to be love. We do too, and we know that, but why make something even harder than it already is?

That’s why I commend people who are in relationships. It is all about commitment and communication. You have to put in a 50/50 effort so you get a positive outcome. Which is sometimes very difficult, and if you make it even harder for us to keep up with you, do you think we want to stick around and deal with it? Finding romance/love is already hard because you need to find the right person that you feel connected to and make it work. But if it takes a very long time to do so with the same person, it’s not worth it. That’s what relationships are for. So next time, if you like a person just tell them right away, don’t drag them along for something that is a waste of time and that doesn’t work. Well, that’s it for this edition. As always, comment, share and let me know what you think. Tweet me at: Real_K_Li
