Links We Love: Shopping!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

I adore shopping, but what I really love is finding sales. I mean, especially as a young adult in today’s economy, who doesn’t want a good sale? However, it’s difficult to get out to the stores at a moment’s notice, especially as a freshman at UConn (not exactly a mall on every street corner). So I usually take to shopping online. Lucky for savvy shoppers, there are so many websites and apps dedicated to getting the consumer (that’s you!) the best possible price.  Below I listed the top five sites and apps for shopping deals.

1.     http://www.groupon.com/

For a taste of everything, this is the site you want to be watching. Groupon has expanded to an app as well, which makes scrolling through deals easy no matter where you are. If you’re interested in restaurant, events, vacations, and items… Groupon is the place for you! This site is varied, but I’ve never regretted anything bought on it. Not to mention, plug in your area, and Groupon will give you all the deals that are occurring in your particular area.

2.     http://collegebudget.com/

College budget is a site meant exclusively for college students. This site is great for pretty much anything, even for saving on student loans and textbooks! But not to worry, there are also major discounts on clothes, shoes, electronics, and even food. Create a free account in order to get personalized steals and deals.

3.     http://studentrate.com/

Unlike groupon, this site will focus more on giving you coupons for sites and stores, as opposed to flat discounted deals on specific items. This site also features deals based on your own location. Shop through studentrate to get discounts like 20% off sites and stores, as well as discounts on everything from cell phone plans to fitness subscriptions.

4.     http://www.dailydeals.com/

For daily price cuts on anything from contact lenses to necklaces to a nursing entrance exam study guide, dailydeals has it all. Plus, if you make an account, they’ll tailor their deals to fit your needs and wants! Talk about having a personal shopper.

5.     http://www.hautelook.com

Fashion deals galore! An operation founded by Nordstrom, this website caters to the fashionista in all of us. Create a profile and you’re all set! New deals are posted almost everyday and there is an endless variety of styles and colors to choose from.
