Horoscopes, derived from birth dates and the position of various planets, have been around for centuries. And many a collegiate has used their daily horoscope as a way to decide whether it’s a good day to ask that cute guy in discussion out. (I know I have!) However, I’ve found that being classified as a Virgo doesn’t always describe me. So when a friend told me about the Celtic Zodiac, I was curious. It’s certainly not everyday I learn a new way to discover a facet of myself. I’ve found that, as a Weeping Willow, I can see my personality within the description.
So what is the Celtic Zodiac? Well, it uses the ancient beliefs of the Druids (roughly ancient Roman Empire ancient), as well as the moon cycles. They then divided the year into 13 different groupings, each based around a specific tree. Each tree is responsible for having varying abilities and powers. If you want to get really into the Zodiac, each of the 13 lunar groups comes with a Guardian Animal, Celtic God, and other miscellaneous items such as gemstones.
