It is safe to say that scrolling through Tik Tok is one of my favorite mindless ways to waste time. While my FYP is full of funny and random videos, a lot of the time I end up getting intrigued by certain products or items that users are raving about. Let’s be real, who can resist a purchase after seeing the video go viral with tons of likes and comments? My curiosity gets the best of me but honestly, sometimes the hype is not always worth it…

Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

At the beginning of quarantine, I saw TONS of videos of this classic seasoning from Trader Joe’s. It can be used to sprinkle on top of avocado toast, on vegetables with dip, to season chicken or other meats, and in sandwiches. The possibilities are pretty much endless due to the versatility of the flavor. Personally, I love putting it on my avocado toast with a drizzle of lime juice and an egg. Rating: 5/5

Aerie High-Waisted Crossover Leggings

It all started with a video of a girl in these blue leggings showing how they make your waist look *snatched* – and then they sold out! Luckily, Aerie realized the popularity and restocked them in multiple colors/lengths. Unfortunately, these leggings were slightly over-hyped in my opinion. The waistline does give a very flattering as it accentuates curves and the quality of the material is good but for almost $50, I probably would not get another pair unless they were on sale. Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Nail Treatment Serum

This clear polish is meant to lengthen and strengthen the base of your nails with application a few times per week. As someone who has relatively short nails which tend to break easily, I had super high hopes for this polish. I do believe that it made my nails less brittle, but I did not see extreme growth in length. It was under $10 so I still think it is worth trying, but my expectations were unrealistic. Rating: 3/10

Revlon One-Step Dryer

The number of videos I saw of people getting salon-quality blowouts from this brush was unreal. Essentially, it dries your hair with a round wand while also adding volume at the ends. Overall, I was very satisfied with the results of using this brush. It leaves my hair feeling shiny, sleek, and bouncy. However, I would definitely suggest using a heat protectant to avoid hair damage and it isn’t something I would use every day. Rating: 4.5/5
