Before we start off, I’d just like to make it clear that this is season 24 of The Bachelor. Season 24. But in case you aren’t familiar with the process or just started watching, four girls go to hometowns, three girls go to Fantasy Suites, and Fantasy Suites week is all about sex.

The episode opens up with Madison (the obvious favorite) asking Peter to talk after last week’s Rose Ceremony. The conversation consists of Madi telling Peter that it would be hard for her to continue with their relationship if he has sex with one of the other girls in the coming week and that actions speak louder than words. However, she leaves out the very important fact that she’s “saving herself for marriage”. Peter is confused, to say the least, and despite the number of times he asks for clarity Madi gives no reasons as to why she would feel this way. By the end of the conversation, it just seemed like an ultimatum with no reasoning other than the fact that she doesn’t want him to have sex with other women. To be fair, Madi you know how this show works, you admitted to watching Peter last season, so the fact that he’s going to have sex during Fantasy Suites really shouldn’t be a surprise at all.

Then boom, we’re in sunny Australia. The weirdest part about this week is the fact that all three women are staying in the same suite rather than their own individual rooms like normal. It was awkward just watching them sit in silence with each other. My suspicion is the producers did this on purpose to cause drama with the whole Madison situation but I guess that’s just for us to speculate.

First up for dates is Hannah Ann. Peter whisks her away for a day filled with jet skiing and making out on the beach. At dinner, Hannah Ann makes it a point to tell Peter how devoted she is to him and that she “doesn’t want to know the details but it’s just about being together in the end”, a way better deal than what Madi proposed! As expected Peter gives Hannah Ann the envelope from Chris Harrison and she says yes. They cheer glasses on the rooftop of their Fantasy Suite and Peter asks if she wants to  “explore inside a little more”, too far Peter, too far. The cameras start to leave but not before they catch Hannah Ann’s hand pressed up against the bathroom door, classy.

The next morning Hannah Ann comes back, almost in tears but we’re not sure why maybe that’s her face? The women exchange conversation about “how tan” she looks and the awkwardness is unbearable.

Next up for Fantasy Suites is Victoria who Peter took on her very first helicopter ride, even though Peter’s been there done that with about thirty other women. Peter starts off the date by asking to have a “clean slate” for this date and forget about last week’s fight… something about this seems so wrong? Also every episode they seemingly ignore last week’s fight and move on so isn’t every week basically just a “clean slate” for them. Whatever we already know Peter loves the drama. Anyways they get ready to head over to the helicopter but not before Peter can bring up last week… didn’t he just ask to start on a “clean slate”, Peter don’t you know what that means? In the air, they marvel at the waterfall down below and Victoria squeaks out of excitement, interesting for a 23-year-old but okay. They fly around some more and reminisce on how happy they are they haven’t fought yet just happy couple things? In not so typical fashion (but maybe just because they know what is coming later) this happy date continues into dinner where Peter tells us he loves the “fire” that comes with Victoria and how the relationship will never be dull. Did he just confirm he loves crazy and fighting? Surprisingly they enjoyed a very nice dinner together and Peter asks Victoria to the Fantasy Suite for a night “full of conversation” (okay Peter). They go up to their room, admire their hot tub, and the cameras disappear.

Meanwhile, in the women’s suite Madi caves and tells Hannah Ann that she told Peter she didn’t want him sleeping with other girls. Madi! Big mistake.

The next morning we see the unfortunate sight of the aftermath of Victoria and Peter’s night, them talking in bed. Victoria heads home and once again the awkwardness is through the roof. There’s some banter about “how skinny” she looks and it ends with Madi getting up to go get ready for her date or cry in her room, still unclear on what the camera was showing us.

Madison heads off on her date with Peter and the two seem very excited to see each other. Peter takes her to a huge skyscraper where they ride in an elevator the majority of the way up and then have to put on harnesses and climb a set of stairs outside the building the rest of the way up… by far the best date he planned (I mean duh it’s for Madi). If you can get over the fact that you had to climb alongside a skyscraper to get there, the view was nice and all in all, it was a cute date.

Meanwhile, at the women’s suite, Hannah Ann tells Victoria about her conversation with Madi even quoting Madi saying “I gave him clear expectations”. Hannah Ann that was low, if Madi wanted crybaby drama-filled Victoria to know, she would have told her. Victoria is pissed about this and thinks it’s “so unfair” that Madi would put Peter in a position to choose between her or having sex with the other two women. Victoria why are you so mad, did last night not go as you planned?

Dinner for Madi and Peter comes around and it’s time for their much-dreaded conversation about last week. They sit down at the table and Madi starts off the conversation saying she wants to be honest with Peter and finally tells him she’s “saving herself for marriage”. Stick to your morals, sister. Peter says he respects her decision but this is not a decision he has made (we know you had sex in a windmill four times, it’s your claim to fame). Eventually, Peter tells Madi he can’t tell her the details of what happened, only that he “was intimate earlier in the week”. There’s an awkward silence that lasts about a minute or so and then Madi excuses herself from the table to go outside and cry. Props to Madi for making it all the way outside and not sobbing on spot though, power to you. Peter sheds a tear or two inside and then steps outside with Madi where he says that he “hates this situation” (uh-huh, what part of the situation would that be sir…) and that he “doesn’t want to lose her”. In Madi’s interview she says that “actions speak louder than words” and that’s why she told Peter how she felt last week. The episode ends, yes you read that right, with Madi walking away from Peter and with no rose ceremony.
