This week began as the gals and Juan ventured to the beautiful New Zeland. The girls were eager to get one-on-one time with the muy caliente Bachelor, Juan however, expressed their nerves for the upcoming week.
The episode began with a one-on-one date between Andi and Juan. The two voyaged down the water in a speedboat, stopping for some waterfall kisses. Andi said that “It feels good to be taken care of.” The chemistry was inevitable throughout dinner as well, and as predicted, she was rewarded with the much desired “Date Rose.”
Next up was a group date with Sharleen, Chelsie, Renee, Nikki, Kat, and Cassandra. The girls and Juan enjoyed a picnic lunch followed by a quick change into bathing suits for a hampster-ish roll in an “orgo” down a waterhill. Juan took turns with the girls and shared a few smooches as he tumbled down the hill.
Mid-way through the episode, Cassandra explained that it was her 22nd birthday. She believed that a Date-Rose would be the best gift ever. Unfortunately, the day took a turn for the worse when Juan respectfully rejected the birthday girl. He explained that he didn’t feel a connection, and felt as though she would be better off leaving immediately so that she could get back to mommy duty and see her son, Trey. A heartbroken Cassandra drove off in tears and complained that she is tired of being single. (I guess she’s not feelin’ 22…?)
In addition to Cassandra’s tears, an anxious Clare was eager to chat with Juan and clear the air after their midnight hookup turned into tension last week. Clare explained, once again, that she never meant to disrespect Juan or his daughter. Juan responded by staying that they needed to establish boundaries, and 4am meetings were off-limits. As the night continued, the two cozied up for dinner in sweats. Per usual, Clare also received a Date- Rose.
At the beginning of the cocktail party, Nikki revealed that she was falling for Juan. Chelsie also shared that her ex had commitment issues, reinforcing her desire to continue dating Juan. In addition, Kat was left with no one-on-one time.
As the rose ceremony started, Juan awarded Nikki, Renee, Clare, Andi, Sharleen, and Chelsie a rose- sending home Kat. As an emotional Kat said her goodbyes, Sharleen broke down. “I can see other girls here suiting him better” she expressed as the episode neared an end. She promised to give it “one more week” and see if her feelings would change. … (Perhaps alluding to some foreshadowing for the next episode?) Will Sharleen send herself home or will Juan beat her to it? Next Monday’s episode kicks off in the 305… and it is definitely expected to produce a high level of heat and drama! Stay tuned!
