8 Reasons We “Love” The Cold Weather

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

As the temperature starts to drop and winter approaches, we start to feel all the effects of the cold weather. We certainly feel the change in the weather and here are some reasons why we cough, cough, “love” this freezing cold weather we have to endure every year.

1. Because we love when our hair is covered in snow after we took the time to make it look acceptable in the morning. Actually, the look of dandruff in our hair was just the look we were trying to acheive.

2. We also love the feeling when our fingers are completely numb from the frigid temperatures and we can barely use them to perform any function. It’s the best when it takes you 10 minutes to text a simple message after recovering from the cold.

3. Because what’s more attractive than our faces being chapped and windburn from the freezing wind that oh so kindly whips your face as you walk. Nothing can beat the look of red dry patches all over your face.

4.  We live for the thrill of freezing outside and then overheating once we step foot into any building with the heater on full blast. Nothing like going from one extreme to another.

5. I mean honestly what’s better than walking long distances, feet deep in snow, certaintly not walking through clear paths. Nothing like getting your feet stuck in the snow with every step you take.

6.  Because we love having to wear layer upon layer everywhere we go just to ensure we don’t completely freeze. Not to mention the time it takes to peel off the layers once you go indoors.

7. Nothing beats having to wait an unbelievably long time for your car to heat up, so you don’t freeze your butt off when you’re driving. If that’s not fun, cleaning the snow off your car is always a thrill.

8.  We love being in a constant state of being cold and never gaining the warmth we so desire even when we put our thermostat up to 90.

Stay warm collegiettes!
