5 Ways to Wake Up Fresh Faced After a Night Out

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Conn chapter.

Waking up on a Saturday morning after a great night out can be rough.  Hangovers, headaches, and not really knowing who you may have texted after that fifth shot can leave you regretting your life decisions.  Even worse? Having your skin suffer from leaving all your makeup on before you passed out in your bed.  Not good, girl.  Here are some things you can try to ensure you wake up fresh faced and fabulous the morning after a night out.

1.  Remove ALL of your makeup before bed.

After a wild night out, you probably just want to crawl into bed and sleep forever, but it is absolutely CRITICAL to remove your makeup before bed. Taking all your makeup off will help prevent breakouts and you will be so happy the next morning when you wake up acne free.

2. Get a nighttime routine.

If you want to wake up fresh faced, a nighttime routine will do the trick. Having a routine will help you get into the habit of taking care of yourself and your skin, and your routine can be quick and easy so you can maintain it no matter how late you get home.

3. Drink lots of water.

This isn’t just a tip for better skin, but it will definitely help with that. Drinking lots of water is proven to help with clearer skin and also for waking up a little less dead the morning after a night out. If you stay hydrated, you will wake up feeling better and looking fresher.

4. Keep your room cool.

Trying to sleep when it’s hot is one of the worst struggles there is, especially when you spent all night in a sweaty bar or basement. To cool down, turn your fan on and if that’s not enough, set your fan up in front of the window to create air flow. A cool room will help you stay comfortable and relaxed while you sleep, and allow you a much better night’s rest.

5. Wear a silk eye mask to bed.

Wearing a silk sleep mask will help keep your skin hydrated while you sleep which helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles from forming over time. Plus, sleep masks help with a better night’s sleep because they provide pure darkness that allows your body to start producing melatonin. The next morning, you’ll wake up looking and feeling refreshed.
