Going back home is great and all until your parents ask you to run to the grocery store for some butter. Instead of taking the expected 10 minutes it usually takes you to run to the store, you end up coming home an hour later after having run into an insane amount of people from your past.
1. Your old kindergarten teacher who’s just totally shocked that in the 15 years that have passed since she taught you the ABCs, you’ve managed to grow into an actual adult.
2. The high school librarian who you have to avoid because you still haven’t handed in that textbook from your senior year math class.
3. Your old soccer coach who wants to organize some sort of alumni game.
4. Your ex-boyfriend’s mom who yells your name from the other end of the aisle, runs over to hug you, and insists on getting brunch.
5. Those girls that you were sort of friends with but haven’t talked to since graduation so you don’t really know if you should go in for a fake hug or just politely nod.
