As the end of the semester wraps up and it comes time to go home, I am more excited than ever for the holidays. Like many people, the holiday season is my favorite time of year. With Christmas and New Year’s right around the corner, I’m starting to think about the different parties and traditions I have to look forward to. In the last few months I have seen many new and exciting trends, so this year I can’t wait to pick out what I am going to wear for the holidays.

Ice Skating

Ice skating is one of my favorite winter activities and living in New England there are many opportunities to do so. One of my favorite accessories I’ve seen a lot this year is earmuffs, which I hadn’t worn since my elementary years. A puffer jacket, fluffy earmuffs, and muted or colorful pants will keep you comfortable and cute while skating!

Decorating The Christmas tree

Whether you are the family that decorates the day after Thanksgiving or the day before Christmas, putting up and decorating the Christmas tree is a tradition that brings holiday cheer. To stay cozy and be as decorative as your tree, you could combine a recent trend and a traditional Christmas trend by wearing an ugly sweater vest. Not only is this a fun staple for the holidays they are also affordable and easy to find. During December I always see so many ugly sweaters and sweater vests under $10 at thrift stores.

Christmas Eve Dinner

In my opinion, Christmas eve is one of the best parts of the holiday, as you spend quality time with family while excitement builds for Christmas day. This winter I have loved any trends with bows or satin and they fit perfectly with the holiday season. Two outfits for a holiday dinner are a dress with a bow detail or a satin shirt with jeans or slacks.

Christmas morning

Even though it is typically just family on Christmas morning, I still love waking up in cute matching pajamas and staying warm. Silk is a classic and comfy material, and flannel pajama sets just feel like Christmas when you put them on, so you can’t go wrong with either!

New Year’s eve

New Year’s Eve is probably one of my favorite holidays to dress for. It is all about glamour and sparkle, so don’t be afraid to make a statement! One of my favorite New Years’ outfits is one with bold pants because I love skirts and dresses, but I always end up cold. My favorite statement pants I’ve seen this winter are ones that are sparkly or have a feather trim.
