Hate to break the news, but winter is coming and it might already be here. But the one way to romanticize the cold, dreary weather, is to put together some of your favorite outfits! Here are five affordable and realistic clothing trends to incorporate into your wardrobe this winter!

Chunky colorful sweaters

As dreary as the weather is during these winter months, your wardrobe doesn’t have to be! A colorful knit cardigan or sweater with some light-wash jeans will be your new favorite go-to outfit on a cold day. Look for some bright blues, greens, and pinks, and even a patterned sweater with stripes would look great!

Vest Tops

As someone who has detested any type of vest besides the puffers, this trend finally got me. After seeing Kendall Jenner wear one and pull off the “model-off-duty” look, I’ve been looking for one ever since. The tighter-fitting neutral-colored ones are my personal favorite as a going-out top, but layering them with a leather coat is a good option for an everyday look. We’re bringing back Newsies!

Pleated Skirts

Before you jump to conclusions, I am not referring to tennis skirts. I have no idea what this style of skirt is called but I have been loving these mini pleated skirts! They’re almost like a cross between school girl and cargo skirts, but more structured. You could pair a neutral brown one with a white “Rory Gilmore” sweater or another leather jacket!

Cherry Red

Red has been the color of this fall and I am 99% sure the trend will continue into the winter. The possibilities are endless: cherry red nails, some little red heels, red leather boots and jackets, etc. I have been searching for a red sweater like the one below for weeks. Wish me luck!

Casual TRousers

With the resurgence of cargo pants, I’ve been seeing more and more non-jean bottoms and I am here for it. I think it’s about time we admit that jeans are just not that comfortable. The corporate girlies that show up to work in flowy grey trousers and patching pantsuits got the right idea. This recent trend kind of reminds me of the horror show that was the 2010s when peak nightlife fashion was peplum tops and pencil skirts. Warning: Office Chic is coming back!

Here’s my list of reasonable brands and boutiques to hop on these winter trends!
