‘Tis the season! Now that November is wrapping up, many of us have already seen the first, or several, snow dustings of this holiday season. With that being said, it’s time to break out the winter boots and other adorable shoes that’ll keep us warm, of course…
Between social media, on-campus trends, and my own personal favorites, I’ve put together three popular shoe brands that will definitely play a prominent role this winter season.
1. Ugg
Starting off strong is the classic boot brand that has surprisingly made a comeback in the last few years. I can recall being in middle school circa 2015 when pink Uggs with bows on the back was the top shoe option. But when high school rolled around, I barely saw any Uggs! Despite the loose controversy around these boots coming around again, I am SO glad to have them back.
The “mini” Uggs are definitely the top pick right now, as well as any of the slippers. They’re perfect for either lounging in the dorm or keeping you warm on your walk to class. They pair super well with bootcut pants and you can really dress them up or down as much as you’d like.
A style on the rise is the platform mini Uggs. Bella Hadid was spotted wearing these in New York City in September 2022!
2. L.L. BEan
Whether it’s their classic duck boots or cozy Chelsea boots, L.L. Bean certainly offers both adorable and very functional options. With long walks to class through potential snow, sleet, and rain, a reliable shoe is a necessity, and this brand will definitely have your back.
The classic Bean Boot has been a game-changer when it comes to harsh weather. I have seen these boots remain in style for several years now and understandably so! They’re waterproof and have great traction on the soles. They also offer both a lower-cut version and a higher-cut version with shearling lining, so they can suit your weather-related needs!
They also offer many Chelsea boot options if you prefer a stylish, low-cut boot, as well as numerous slippers and moccasins.
3. Dr. Martens
Also commonly referred to as “Docs,” this brand will always remain a major player in the shoe game. I absolutely love how they have the power to spice up any outfit. Docs have been in style for decades and there are truly so many fun variations. They serve functionality but definitely play a bigger role on the style side.
The very first models of Docs are the 1460 Lace Up Boots. With more than 17 different color options, these boots have prevailed every fall and winter season.
Docs also offer numerous other unique shoe styles, such as Adrian loafers and Oxford shoes. These have certainly been on the rise and pair well with tall socks.
Conclusion
These three brands are definitely some of the most popular this season, but there are so many more out there! In addition, purchasing these shoes can be very expensive, so finding similar versions is totally valid (and something I do quite often!)
