The weather is finally warm so you know what that means: it’s darty season! Pull out your cutest sundress and polarized aviators and head down to UConn’s very own darty central to get some fresh air and a nice buzz.

Although day drinks are the best part of spring semester, there is definitely some baggage that comes along with them.  Here are the 10 stages of a darty at UConn that we can all probably relate to.

1. You wake up on Saturday morning and think about the three exams, two papers, and hours of online homework you completed over the week and decide to add a little champagne to your orange juice…. or a little orange juice with your champagne?

2. Your phone begins to buzz from your friends begging you to come along to the day drink being hosted by your favorite frat for that afternoon..

3. You realize your friends got mixed up and the darty is actually being hosted by a frat that you know absolutely no one in… but you’re still going anyway!

4. It’s 11AM and you can already hear the turn-up music blasting through Hunting Lodge Road from campus.

5. You and your friends finally get to the day drink and start cracking open some beers and enjoying the sun.

6. It’s 4PM and you don’t realize how drunk you really are until the party is broken up and you’re forced to walk home much more lit than anyone should be on a Saturday afternoon.

7. Your friend brings up the wonderful idea of going to a dining hall to eat your body weight in carbs.

8. All of a sudden it’s 10PM and you’re somehow in your bed with no recollection of how you got there/when you fell asleep… all you do know is that you need water and to not be disturbed for at least another 8 hours.

9. You wake up the next morning slightly regretting all of the partying from the previous day.

10. You receive a Facebook notification for an event happening that day that you RSVP’d for a week ago… and look! It’s another day drink!

As with all parties, remember to be careful and drink responsibly to stay safe and to make the most out of a darty without going overboard!
