Spring break is right around the corner and I could not be more excited about it! I am so excited to go home and see my family and friends. Since I am on the swim team, I had to come back early from winter break. I have not been home since January first. The last few weeks have been tough for me and I’ve had to deal with a lot of homesickness, but it will all be worth it in a few days when I get to go home. I can not wait to see my brother, parents, and my dog Piper. We are going to celebrate my grandma’s birthday while I’m home since it was a few days ago. I am excited to have a much-needed break from my classes.

While I’m not going on a vacation, I am still so excited to go home. I have fun plans with my mom like painting our nails and going shopping. We are also planning on going to New York City for the day to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins. I think that going home will give me a much-needed reset button because this semester has been pretty difficult. My classes are very challenging, with organic chemistry, cell biology and genetics, Spanish, and thought and civilization. While they are very interesting, I need a break from the challenging material.

Spending time with my family is something that I have missed this semester. Being alone on campus during January has taught me a lot, but I am ready to go home and have a relaxing week. Even though I’ll have homework, it will be refreshing to be able to do it at home. Also, going home will give me a chance to stock up on food and supplies like laundry detergent that I am running out of to bring back for the last half of the semester.

It’s hard to believe that I am already at spring break of my freshman year of college. It seems like just last week was move-in week. Time flies when you’re having fun and gaining new friends and experiencing new things. I have really enjoyed my time at Susquehanna so far. All in all, I am ready to go home for spring break and take some much needed time off. That way I can start fresh and finish out my second semester of my freshman year with a bang!
