Sippin’ On Starbucks: Caramel Brulee Latte

Described as “Espresso, steamed milk and rich caramel brulée sauce, topped with whipped cream and caramel brulée topping.” by Starbucks itself, I was cautious to try this holiday drink because of how similar it sounded to my go-to Caramel Macchiato. I feared that it would not compare and that I should stick with my usual, but when my friend Kathryn tried it out and recommended it, I swallowed my pride and gave it a try.

My exact order was a grande, Caramel Brulee Latte with soy milk and no whip, since I do not consume dairy. I typically prefer iced coffee drinks, but when I took my first sip of the hot Caramel Brulee Latte, my mind was changed. The foamy soy milk with the Brulee bits was a decadent combination. I found that there were similarities between it and a Caramel Macchiato, but it was slightly sweeter and more rich. The caramel and the espresso seemed to be better combined, making it slightly smoother-tasting.

I have enjoyed this sweet treat multiple times since, and it has not dissapointed. I noticed that they do seem to have a Caramel Brulee Frappuccino, and an option to get an Iced Caramel Brulee Latte, both of which I have not tried yet, but I plan to! I also hope to try out this drink with Blonde Espresso to see if there is a noticable difference.

Overall, if you are a fan of caramel and fairly sweet coffee drinks, I believe that is a drink for you!
