Now that we’re all spending more and more time at home, you may have begun to notice
areas of your home that could use some love. But where do you start? With so many possibilities,
from to paint colours, bedspreads, and cushions, it can all feel like too much. And like me, if you’re
a renter with a strict landlord, it can be even harder to create a space that truly sparks joy. While
many people opt to check out Pinterest, I find it can be a bit overwhelming. Instead, I suggest
checking out these six YouTube channels when you need a strike of interior design inspiration.
- Lone Fox
-
Drew, the mastermind behind Lone Fox is a do-it-yourself pro. From a small piece of art
or a hack to spruce up old furniture, to an entire room makeover, this channel has it all. If
you’re looking for inspiration to spice up your bedroom, or even for tips on how to get
your damage deposit back after you’ve had your fun decorating, I highly suggest you
check out Drew’s videos.
- Alexandra Gater
-
Alexandra is a Toronto based interior designer who has an affinity for Ikea hacks,
pom-poms, and her–incredibly adorable–cat Lottie. If you’re looking for creative
solutions to upgrade a small rental, Alexandra is your girl! Her channel is conscious of
people’s limited budgets and offers unique–and gorgeous–solutions to many of the
dilemmas renters face. This channel proves that you don’t have to sacrifice style for
practicality or budget!
- TheSorryGirls
-
Yet another Canadian-based channel, Becky and Kelsey are an OG pair of YouTube style
gurus. From stunning room transformations to thrift flips and affordable do-it-yourself
versions of upscale items, this channel is a fantastic resource to get your creative juices
flowing.
- Apartment Therapy
-
I originally found Apartment Therapy on Instagram. While this channel doesn’t
necessarily feature many makeovers or projects, it is undoubtedly an excellent place to
get inspiration from the many gorgeous spaces they feature. You may even stumble upon
a trend you had no idea about!
- Make My Space Work
-
Make My Space Work is a channel by Alexandra Gater which seeks to create practical
workspaces for home-based businesses. While you may not have a home-based
business, you probably have a desk that you study at on a very regular basis. If you’re
looking to spice your study space up or find practical solutions to a small workplace,
check this channel out!
- Mr. Kate
-
Mr. Kate is a channel which primarily features room and home makeovers. Kate and her
husband, Joey, have madeover rooms for numerous influencers, from Jeffree Star to Liza
Koshy. Their rooms primarily feature fun and whimsical designs, with a dose of
do-it-yourself decor as well. Check this channel out if you are looking for some major
inspiration!
