In these last few moments before finals kick in, you may feel like you have no time for anything but cramming material from the lectures that you all but stopped going to by November. But giving yourself a bit of time to take your mind off your material is equally as important as learning it- just find a way that doesn’t detract too much from your studying time. Here are some things I’ve been doing recently:

Call a friend.

Not only will this lift your spirits for the rest of the day, but it’s a great way to stay in touch with friends, even in the times you can’t physically be with them

Cook a nice meal.

Taking a break from the McDonalds/Dominoes bender will do your mind and your body some good.

Listen to more music.

Take a study break and dance in your room, or take a 15-minute walk around campus as you listen to your favourite songs.

Have a mini-pamper night.

Treat yourself to a face/hair mask or a bubble bath after a long day of studying.

Do an at-home stretch/yoga session.

YouTube has several instructors who will be able to guide you to a less-stressed state-of-being.

Self-care does not have to be time-cosuming and grand, just be sure that you take care of yourself during this busy time!
