“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house…got “cold feet” Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be “monogamous”???? bitch I need a REAL break after this .. bye yall,” is what award-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion posted on her Instagram story about her (now ex) boyfriend Klay Thompson, a washed NBA player.

Her fans are absolutely livid (me included!!), but every woman can agree that it’s insane for this loser to cheat on such a beautiful and talented woman. It’s literally preposterous, but it’s obviously not the first time a gorgeous woman has been mistreated by a rat-like male.

The Cheating Epidemic

When Beyoncé released Lemonade, an album highlighting an emotional journey of betrayal and infidelity by her husband, Jay-Z, the world shook. To this day, people wonder how the hell Jay-Z pulled one of the most stunning women on this planet. And why the hell did he decide to cheat on her? And HOW? I mean, he’s hideous. They all seem to be. It’s apparently a Thompson trend too. Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe Kardashian while she was pregnant with two separate women. About two years later, he cheated again. A few years after that, he cheated again. She was also cheated on in her prior relationship with Lamar Odom. Adam Levine cheated on his model wife. Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Neymar and Bruna. Ned Fulmer and Ariel. Gerard and Shakira. The list goes on, and there’s no doubt that these boys are disgusting, and these women were way out of their league!

Not Just Celebrities

Although the celebrity cheating scandals are the most prominent, it’s an issue that occurs for almost every woman. It seems that infidelity is becoming more common, but mistreatment of women in general seems to rise along with the male loneliness epidemic. When I was 15-years-old, I had to deal with hearing that my current boyfriend was texting a girl from a different town on Snapchat. When I was 16-years-old, I was told that I was only for “entertainment purposes.” At 18, I was used in a revenge ploy. At 19, my body felt like a commodity to some boy I no longer speak to after he chose someone else to be just temporary with. My friends and family members have a story, or multiple stories, they have shared with me about their own personal bad memories with a boy they once trusted and loved deeply. There was a cheating rumor at least once a month at my high school that always turned out to be true. Why are we all relating and experiencing something so awful?

Men ARE The Problem

Cheating statistics reveal that men report higher rates of sexual infidelity than women. It adds up when you remember men refuse to talk about their feelings, because of toxic masculinity and most likely because they don’t have the emotional vocabulary. Why communicate when you can take all your frustration and make it sexually charged, right? You can treat him like a king, and he will still be unsatisfied. Do his laundry, cook for him, and tell him how handsome he is, and he will still end up in bed with another. But trust that he will be groveling at your feet and begging for forgiveness soon after. You are not the issue. He’s just a loser.

So.. Why Are Men Such Losers?

Deep down, I believe all men have homoerotic tendencies. They are rooted in pleasing other men, aren’t they? It’s recognizable in sports, but if you look further.. It’s the small details every day. They score a touchdown and hope to be recognized by the big man in the stadium who can fill his pockets and praise him. They hit a homerun only to be smacked on the ass by a huddle of their male teammates. It’s all very blatant, but it’s more than that. It’s going after the girl to prove to his friends that he can. He brags and boasts about how he “hit that” as they high-five him and call him “the goat.” He ghosts the same girl so he can “focus on sports” or “spend more time with the boys,” and then he cheats because his “bros” told him it was okay. He’s constantly seeking approval from other men, whether it’s his terrible friends, his coach, or his father, even though he swears he doesn’t have daddy issues. The family tree is grown from trauma passed down from one generation to another, which is why each generation of women is disrespected by each generation of men.

And.. Why Are Men So Stupid?

A counter-question: can we please start educating our men? Let’s teach men about emotions and common decency instead of teaching them that women serve them, and there’s no crying in baseball. Men are commonly known to take risks that wind them up in the hospital in exchange for male approval, as I mentioned. It’s the Male Idiot Theory, so with scientific research, it’s proven that males being stupid leads to them being losers. That’s entirely opinionated, but I’m sure many women would agree. Boys, you take a risk to impress your friends, you lose the love of your life.. or you end up with stitches and crutches. Choose wisely. Either way, when your name is spoken of, you’ll be associated with this definition: “a person or entity that loses a game, contest, or bet, or someone consistently unsuccessful, incompetent, or socially maladjusted.”

Homewrecking

Quick intermission from bashing men to remind certain women to stop playing a role in ruining other women’s happiness. Knowing there’s another woman is heartbreaking, so why would you want to be her? It is not cute to be a side-chick, a sneaky link, or the “special” one. If you know that a man has a relationship, do not involve yourself. Yes, we need to always blame the man for cheating, but hold the woman who knew accountable too. Men lie constantly, but if it’s an unknown accident, then she doesn’t deserve the backlash. It’s embarrassing that some women want to tear others apart based on the need for male validation and overall insecurity. I recall being livid during my last relationship when a girl asked my boyfriend if I could fight.. Genuinely grow up. Be a woman, and stop acting like a man who seeks the approval of other men!

Hot Girl Summer and Healing

Megan Thee Stallion coined the term “Hot Girl Summer,” so I hope she reminds herself of what’s to come. That goes for all the girls who have recently been through some B.S., or at any time really. Past, present, or future, we’ve all faced some heartache and grave letdowns. This summer, and so on, should be a time for unconditional love for yourself rather than giving it to a man who doesn’t appreciate you. Be unapologetically you by having some fun without any ties, but remind yourself that it’s okay to be hurt. You gave that loser so much of yourself, but he didn’t know what to do with it. He doesn’t really know how to do anything, though. You stood by his side, and the betrayal hurts. Cry it out, scream it out, dance it out. It’s disappointing, but one day you’ll realize how small he actually is, mentally and physically, girl. It’s up to you to decide when you’re ready again. Sure, I’d love to say that all men are losers, but most are. There’s that small percentage, and I’m certain that one of them will give you the love you deserve. Heal first, grow next, and if you don’t think I’m qualified enough, listen to the wise words of Megan: “Ladies, love yourself ‘cause this sh*t could get ugly.”
