This Women’s History Month, we want to highlight a new, booming, woman-owned business operating in the Texas Hill Country! This is Lemon & Leaf, and we are excited to tell you all about it!

What is Lemon & Leaf?

If you’re ever strolling in Kyle, TX area and crave a dirty soda or a sweet, colorful matcha, well, this woman-owned business has your back. Look for a black, glistening food truck, and your refreshments will be on the way! Lemon & Leaf is a service where you can order refreshing drinks from fresh lemonades, matchas, chai lattes, iced coffees, pastries, and even dirty sodas! Starting as a lemonade stand last summer, this business has transformed from serving a seasonal drink to offering a diverse menu of drinks year-round!

But where does Lemon & Leaf come from? Founder and owner, Sinclaire Haskins, is a mother of 5 from Washington state. Her story started off by working in the airline industry, but owner Sinclaire wanted something more present, flexible, and stable for her kids. Just last February, she decided to move all the way down to Texas to start her new journey, and from there the rest was herstory

Currently, the business travels to different locations surrounding the Texas Hill Country, including Kyle, Austin, Buda and New Braunfels. Sinclair says, “Being mobile opens us up to more experiences and meeting new people.” Lemon & Leaf are currently participating in Kyle Market Days!

What’s on the menu

Lemon & Leaf and their Arizona-inspired menu have drinks varying from lemonade to matcha. When the truck first opened, Sinclair wanted refreshing drinks for the summertime. Fresh lemonade was ideal to enjoy on a hot summer day, and when thinking about the future of the company. Coffee and matcha to enjoy during the fall season came to light.

What makes Lemon & Leaf so special is its focus on creative flavor combinations. Elements of fruity and herbal notes, dessert-like flavors, mixed into one drink, is what makes this stand so intriguing. Maintaining a mix of lights and refreshing options throughout the menu to be paired with light snacks such as bagels and mini cinnamon rolls.

Lemon & Leaf’s menu is defined by a blend of innovation and balance, bringing refreshing drinks to customers year-round. Not a big coffee fan? Lemon & Leaf has dived into the dirty soda trend. A popular trend out west in Arizona and Utah. Dirty soda is your choice of soda with something special to make it your own. Creamer and syrups are added to make it ‘dirty’. For those of us who crave a sweet treat in a cup, Sinclair has combined our favorite flavors with matcha and coffee.

And finally, some words of wisdom from Sinclaire to anyone who would want to start their own business:

If you’re feeling called for it, just do it. Don’t listen to anyone or what anyone has to say.
