So you always hear the same old stuff on the radio (it’s good stuff, don’t get me wrong) but how about trying these out for size?  For the week 1 lineup we have……(drum roll please…)

Everyday (Coolin’) – Swizz Beatz
This song has been a favorite of mine since it was released last March. It’s energizing and upbeat so it has the potential to get you pumped up for a fun night out or motivated for a workout. If the idea of rap mixed with electronic elements strikes your fancy, this is probably the closest song you’ll find it in.

Crystalline – Bjork (Album: Biophilia)
To some people, Bjork’s music is the weirdest thing to hit this planet, while others think it is just plain cool. Give her music a chance, though, and it really will take to you another place. Crystalline is one of the more popular songs on her new album Biophilia (released in October), so it’s definitely worth listening to and getting a taste for who this ingenious Bjork actually is.

Paradise – Coldplay (Album: Mylo Xyloto)
This track had just recently been dropped

in September and is the only song on their album that has been released so far. My first thoughts when I heard this song? Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh. It’s stunning. In absolutely no time flat this song had flooded the radio, and for good reason. Watch out for the rest of the album that will be released October 24.

Drive All Night – NEEDTOBREATHE (Album: The Reckoning)

NEEDTOBREATHE, a band that hails from South Carolina, first appeared in 2006 and certainly has never been given the attention it deserves. This band has been described as “Southern rock,” and even though I am not quite sure about calling it “Southern”, the songs just make you feel…good. Drive All Night is a song that is one of my personal favorites.

Houdini – Foster the People (Album: Torches)
You’ve probably heard “Pumped Up Kicks” but have you heard this song? Foster the People is a first-hand example of how electronic and indie beats have become incorporated into mainstream, which has been a great shift.

Without a doubt, when someone looks back into the “2010-2020’s” genre, something with a techno persuasion will be featured (possibly this band?). Houdini is an awesome song that has great energy and makes you just wanna DANCE!
