Listening to podcasts can motivate yourself to get things checked off that to-do list. Podcasts are great for those moments when you don’t necessarily want to be scrolling away on your phone. Here are some of my favorite podcasts in Spotfiy’s popular categories.

Advice

Unsolicited Advice

This podcast makes all Monday mornings a little bit better. Hosted by Taryne Renee and Ashley Nichole, they answer listeners’ questions, ranging from friendship to mental health advice. My favorite part of this podcast is the “Taryne It Up” segment when listeners send in embarrassing and comical stories. This podcast is great because it provides advice from an outsider’s point of view, which can be a refreshing take on many listeners’ stories.

Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain

Emma Chamberlain, a YouTuber and entrepreneur, hosts this honest and intimate podcast. This podcast is hilarious, emotional, and entertaining. I truly admire Emma’s ability to deliver raw and honest advice. Listeners can relate to her life and feel connected. I love her brutal honesty in answering questions from fans, as well as crazy stories from being a YouTuber.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Pretty Basic

This funny, lighthearted, yet sometimes serious podcast was the FIRST podcast I started listening to. Hosted by lifestyle creators and YouTubers, Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz, the girls talk about everything from dating to anxiety, crazy stories, and everything in between. They also bring on guests, such as Olivia O’Brien and Natalie Mariduena. The connection between Alisha Marie and Remi Cruz is the best, and it truly feels like you are having a conversation with your best friends.

Every Single Album: Taylor Swift

Attention Swifties: I just recently found this podcast when I was searching for a podcast for all things Taylor Swift. Nathan Hubbard and Nora Princiotti co-host this podcast. Nathan Hubbard, who was the Ex-CEO of Ticketmaster, brings a new perspective to the world of Taylor Swift, with his business case analysis and insights. Nora Princiotti analyzes all of Taylor’s Easter Eggs, from the liner notes to certain lyrical notations.

News

Up Next hosted by NPR

If you need a five-minute news recap, this podcast is great for those on the go. Up Next features the top three stories of the day with analysis and feedback from the experts.

Culture

AsianBossGirl

I LOVE this podcast, hosted by Melody Cheng, Helen Wu, and Janet Wang. They share their experiences in the finance, technology, and media careers as Asian American women. They talk about everything from the recent anti-Asian hate crimes to Asian parents on celebrating American holidays. They also interview Asian American actors, authors, and entrepreneurs. This podcast is great for anyone looking to understand what it means to be Asian American in the United States.

I hope one of these podcasts appealed to you: happy listening!
