Living in New Orleans, it is still without a doubt, summer weather. The sun still beats down (although an
earlier sunset can be expected) and for the most part, it doesn’t rain and you can still catch girls laying out
in the nice weather on a given afternoon. For us, we can take advantage of the fact that we have such a gorgeous campus, and right next door, the picturesque Audubon Park. What’s best about this fair weather is this absolutely delicious slushy recipe which I’ve found that goes hand in hand with the relaxing feeling of the summer sun and hot weather.

Sometimes, a daiquiri goes hand in hand with a trip to the fly to soak in the sun, which is why you ought to try this homemade equally deliciously and refreshing goody!

Riesling Strawberry Slushy (Serves 6):

Ingredients:

•2 cups hulled strawberries

•1 bottle [750ml] dry Riesling

•1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

•2 tablespoons sugar

Directions:

Reserve 1 cup of the Riesling – cover and place in the fridge to chill.

In a food processor, puree strawberries with the remaining wine, lime juice and sugar. Pour the
mixture into ice cube trays and freeze until solid. When you’re ready to serve [or drink], puree
the ice cubes with the remaining wine in your blender.

Enjoy!
