Alas, the first two weeks of school are completed and all the students here at Tulane are finally becoming accustomed to being back to classes and their normal routines. I don’t know about you, but I am 100% positive that this semester is going to be the best one yet! Of course, to get this semester get started on the right foot, I picked out five of my current favorite songs to share with all of Her Campus! Enjoy!

1. Talk That Talk (feat. Jay-Z) – Rihanna
This is new from Rihanna and Jay-Z, and so before you hear it on the radios, listen to it here first.
Even though the song has received some criticism for being a bit too “raunchy,” there is no denying that everything about this piece is really good (but can you really except anything less from Rihanna??).

2. At Last – Etta James
Oh, how I love this song! It’s such a classic in every way. You’ve probably heard it at least a few times before, but it’s time to blow off the dust and start bringing this song back to life.

3. Safe & Sound – Taylor Swift (feat. The Civil Wars)
Is anyone as excited about The Hunger Games movie coming out as I am?! This new song by Taylor Swift will be featured in the movie. Not only is this song awesome, but also it makes me way more excited to see this movie in
March.

4. HoppĂpolla – Sigur RĂłs

I have to confess—I heard this song on the background of the Slumdog Millioniare trailer four years ago, and it has been my favorite ever since. The song requires a bit of a unique taste, but it is absolutely the most beautiful
song I have ever heard. Ever.

5. Dearest – The Black Keys
The Black Keys played tribute to Buddy Holly by remaking the artist’s song titled “Dearest.”
Without a doubt, this song will take you back in time to “the wonder years” (ahhh yes, the good ol’ days) and the good vibes this era entails. I would be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t like this song.
