As much as I love warm, sunny afternoons, cold days remind me of all the fun stuff associated with winter and the indoors, like no school, lots of food, immense amounts of free time, and (of course) the holidays. That’s why, when the weather here in New Orleans took a turn downward, I was pleased to actually have an excuse to sit in my room and research new songs that have just been released, with all the time in the world at my disposal (okay, that’s actually a lie since we are right dab in the middle of finals week). Either way, this is the (awesome!!) lineup I have picked out from the comfort of my warm room to be enjoyed by all:
Ā
1. Lonely Boy – The Black Keys

I was so excited when I (accidently) stumbled upon this new release.Ā

The Black Keys bring back 60s rock n’ roll while being completely modern at the same time. No doubt, this song has great energy and is worth a listen.

2. Bang Bang Pow Pow – T-Pain & Lil Wayne
Ladies and gentlemen, T-Pain is back. This is his latest single from his new album that just dropped on December 6th. I predict that this song will be become very popular very quickly, so check this song out and soak in all its greatness before it hits the mainstream.

3. Don’t Kick The Chair (feat. Kid Cudi) – Dia Frampton

I’ll be honest, anytime I hear the words ā€œKid Cudi,ā€ I get really excited. But who is this ā€˜Dia Frampton’?? Turns out, she was a contestant on NBC’s The Voice and is completely new to the big-leagues of the music industry (as in, her first single EVER was released…a month ago). There’s really no denying her talent though (I mean, come on, already making songs with Cudi???). If Frampton is consistent with her work, the world is likely to hear of her a lot more of her in the upcoming months.

4. Magic (feat. Gary Go) – The Knocks

Prepare yourself to be taken to a different planet. The song is composed of part reggae, part dance, part I-don’t-even-know-what, and is 100% totally awesome (I couldn’t resist being really cheesy here). The Knocks are just a funky weird electronic duo that definitely hit the right chord with ā€œMagic.ā€

5. The A Team – Ed Sheeran

ā€œThe A Teamā€ has been number 3 on the UK charts, so why hasn’t Ed Sheeran gotten ANY attention in the US? Think of Ed Sheeran as the Jason Mraz of the UK; his singing and songwriting skills will blow you out of the water. And I swear his angelic voice will make you say, ā€œAhhh, he’s so dreamyā€¦ā€¦ā€
