With finals coming up, we are going to need all the energy we can get. This week’s lineup features five pumped up songs that will be sure to pump you up.
1) I Like It Like That (feat. New Boyz) – Hot Chelle Rae
Okay, this is not a new release, but “I Like it Like That” puts me in a good mood and gives me a HUGE energy boost. During finals week and staying up until the wee hours of the morning, I do not need any slow, depressing songs (and I bet you don’t either!) so definitely give this song a go.
2) Symphonies (feat. Kid Cudi) – Dan Black
I have always been a huge fan of Kid Cudi, but I had no idea this song existed until a couple weeks ago (thank you, Pandora!). In short, this song is amazing and the music video is just as cool. Dan Black, the one-hit-wonder behind this masterpiece, hails from the UK and has been hopping around various European bands since 2007. Either way, Dan Black definitely knocked this song out of the park.
3) Cinema (Skrillrex Remix) – Benny Benassi
Go to Europe, and you’re bound to here this guy. Benny Benassi is a Grammy Award winning Italian DJ who is a master at creating house and electro music. No doubt, this song will pump you up and get you through the next
day’s set of finals.
4) Late For The Sky (feat. Slug & Aesop Rock) – Evidence
Evidence, aka Michael Perretta, is one of the most refreshing rappers I have heard in awhile. The instrumentals add a jazzy element to the piece and blend perfectly with the lyrics. What’s interesting is that Evidence started
recording this album in 2008 but has only just recently released it in the past couple months. However, it’s never too late for a good thing, and this is definitely a good thing.
5) Beast of Burden – The Rolling Stones
Nothing beats the finals blues like a little Rolling Stones. The band is the absolute authority is nearly every musical way possible, but especially when it comes to playing guitar. The instrumentals of “Beast of Burden” definitely dominate the entire song, which is why it’s one of my favorites.
