So listen up y’all – this week is not only huge because we are back in school, but also because this weekend is MY birthday! I am going to go ahead and get the party started by playing some of my favorite songs EVER. Hopefully your weekend will be just as fun as I intend mine to be.
1. Young, Wild & Free – Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa
I challenge you to find a song that is better for birthdays. Aren’t we all young, wild and free, after all?? Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa are some of my favorite artists, so I was very pleased when they merged together to form this awesome song.
2. The Next Episode (feat. Snoop Dogg) – Dr. Dre
I feel like such a bad@ss listening to this song.
This song may have been released in 1999, but I swear it can never get old.
3. Boondocks – Little Big Town
Some days, I wish I were from the boonies just so I can relate to this song. Either way, I love it and listen to it all the time.
4. Good Day – Nappy Roots
The first time I heard this song was on an episode from the first season of Gossip Girl. I immediately looked up the song and played it basically a million times on YouTube before finally downloading it to my iPod. This has been one of my favorite songs for the past few years and it’s the perfect birthday song since I plan on having a very good day.
5. The Remedy – Jason Mraz
Remember how in Greek mythology, the Sirens had the most mesmerizing voice that virtually no one could resist?
Well, Jason Mraz is the equivalent to that (as you all probably know). His voice cannot be paralleled since it is just so dang beautiful. On top of that, his songs give off relaxing vibes, which is why I listen to him all the time during the school year.
