Most Anticipated Moments of Spring Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tulane chapter.

Post-Mardi depression got you down? Don’t let it! Tulane in the spring is the BEST. Here’s a few things that’ll get you excited about school again this semester.

1) Big/Little Week

Now that sorority rush is finally over, the older girls can’t wait to shower the new members with gifts and food. Like, a lot of food. No matter what your age, what sorority you’re in (or not at all), you’re bound to get some perks out of this present and glitter-filled week.

2) Spring Break

It’s only a few weeks away! Just get through this round of midterms. I’m personally going home, but some of my friends are road-tripping for Florida for a few days. Spring Break is the perfect time to take some time off from school, relax, and hang out with your friends and family, stress-free.

3) The Weather

I know we’re spoiled down here in NOLA (I mean, as I’m writing this, it’s 60 and gorgeous outside) but the weather only gets better from here. Right around spring break, you’ll start to be able to wear flip flops and shorts again. I don’t know about you, but wearing summer clothes always puts me in a good mood.

4) Festival Season

Carnival season may be over, but let’s be real – it’s New Orleans. There’s always something to celebrate. St. Patrick’s Day, Wednesdays at the Square, French Quarter Fest, Crawfest, and my personal favorite, Jazz Fest (John Mayer is coming and I could NOT be more excited; see you in the front row!) are all Tulane and New Orleans highlights of the semester. Plus, the workload in April is a little lighter than other months because of finals in May, so enjoy it while it lasts!

It’s only February, but spring semester flies by! Before you know it, you’ll be home and wishing you were back at school. We’re so lucky to go to such an amazing school with so many unique things to offer, so don’t give in to the mid-semester slump
