At this point in the semester just about every freshman is thinking the same three things: my alcohol tolerance is way too high to be healthy, I have way too many assignments for this to be real, and should I just move my entire bed to Howie T because I’m there more than I am in my dorm.

The assumption that college is all partying and barely any classes, is totally false. I am DROWNING in work and tests, and just barely making it back from 828 on the weekends. Being overwhelmed by work is just about an everyday occurrence, and spending all my “free time” in Howie T is basically a default setting at this point. Being in college and taking all of these classes has forced me to maintain a balance between my social life and academic life, and ultimately buckle down when I need to. If I have a test or a paper due the day after a frat party or night out, I have been forced to find a way to do both. Yes, that’s right, both.

I think every freshman in college can agree that the one of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is how to be the ultimate multitaskers. Squeezing in all our work in the span of time between our last class and the start of the pregame, we manage to get through the weeks by following the motto “work hard, play harder. The feeling of accomplishing all your work and being prepared for all your classes, literally makes going out more fun. In college your work is never finished but honestly neither is going out. As for the alcohol tolerance, there is not much that can be done unless Tulane moves location from New Orleans, but let’s be real, that would be tragic.
