The best way to relax this year: podcasts. You can sit in your car, take a nap, cook, go on a walk, and still be learning. Podcasts teach you about yourself, the world, or any topic you could possibly think of. Here are the five podcasts you need to listen to in 2022.

Pod Save America

Now is the time for Gen Z to get politically involved. It’s overwhelming and upsetting to constantly read the CNN and New York Times updates on your phone. Instead, twice a week, listen to PSA. Four young guys from the Obama administration give you the rundown on politics that week, make you laugh, and tell you how to help. It is my favorite part of every Tuesday and Thursday. Whether you want to get more involved in politics or are a political junkie, this podcast is enjoyable, inspirational, and important.

Armchair Expert

Dax Shepard and Monica Padman are so endearing, genuine, and funny that any guest they have is a joy. They interview people from Nobel Prize winners to journalists to your favorite actors. Listening in on their conversations is such a beautiful and down-to-earth look into the human condition.

Welcome to Paradise

Sophia Kelly is the best kind of influencer: sex-positive, body-positive, and life-positive. She talks about wellness, relationships, growing up, mental health, and more in her weekly podcast. She is the type of person you could sit down and talk to for hours.

Sounds Like a Cult

When you are craving a distraction, this dark podcast delves into things you didn’t even know were cults. They talk about “cults” from Flat Earthers to the fans that follow the NFL. Half an hour a week to unwind flies by with this entertaining podcast.

Vox Quick Hits

The best on-the-go pick-me-up. Vox’s random assortment of episodes has all of your interests covered, including ones you didn’t know you had. From what to watch on Netflix to analyzing the concept of “girl boss,” this show gives fifteen-minute coverage of every topic you can imagine.
